How to Use An Aastra 6731i/6757i Telephone

The following instructions are for an Aastra 6731i or Aastra 6757 phone with Comtel VoIP.
 
  Aastra 6731i


To call another user on the system:
  • Lift handset or use the speakerphone mode
  • Dial the 3-digit extension number. To end call, hang up or press goodbye
To make an outside call:
  • Lift handset or use the speakerphone mode
  • Dial 9 plus the telephone number. To end call, hang up or press goodbye.
Voice Announce to a Phone
  • Lift handset and press the Intercom (ICM) button
  • Dial the 3-digit extension
  • The phone will beep and you can talk over the phones speaker
Receiving a call:
  • To answer a call ringing on your phone, lift handset or press SPKR key
Call Pickup:
  • To answer a call which is ringing on another station, lift your handset and press the dial directed pickup Code ** and the extension to the inbound caller
  • To answer a ringing call at any station, lift your handset and dial *8#

To place a call into PARK:
  • While on call, press the PARK button
  • Note which zone lights and hang up
  • To answer, go to any phone and press the lit "Park Zone Button," i.e.: 71, 72, etc.
To place a call on HOLD:
  • Press the HOLD key
  • To retrieve a call placed on hold, lift handset and press flashing line key

To transfer a call to an internal number:
  • While on call - press TRANSFER key
  • Dial extension number 
  • When extension answers, you may announce the call or simply hang up to complete the transfer
  • To reconnect to the original party without complete the transfer, press the CANCEL key on the screen
Transfer to Voicemail:
  • While on a call, press TRANSFER key
  • Dial * and the extension number and hangup

  • Press REDIAL key
  • Select number using Up/Down keys and press REDIAL again

To make a three party conference call:
  • Call first party
  • Press CONF key and dial next party
  • Press CONF key to connect all parties
To reconnect to the original party if third party is busy or does not answer:
  • Press the Flashing line key

To access your mailbox:
  • Press the VOICE MAIL key
  • Enter the password
Voicemail Main Menu
The main menu will be the first menu that you are presented with once you have logged in.
  • "1" - Listen to messages in the currently selected folder
  • "2" - Change folders
  • "3" - Advanced options
  • "0" - Mailbox options
  • "*" - Repeat the menu options
  • "#" - Exit from the voice mail system
Advanced Options in the Main Menu:
  • "5" - Leave a message for another user on the system
  • "*" - Return to the main menu
Mailbox Options in the Main Menu:
  • "1" - Record your unavailable message
  • "2" - Record your busy message
  • "3" - Record your name
  • "4" - Record your temporary greeting
  • "5" - Change your password
During Message Playback:
  • "*" - Rewind the message by 3 seconds
  • "#" - Fast-forward the message by 3 seconds
  • "0" - Pause the message playback. Press any other button to resume playback
Advanced Options after listening to a Message:
  • "1" - Record a message and send it directly to the mailbox of the person that sent you the current message
  • "2" - Call the person that left the message back
  • "3" - Play the message
  • "5" Leave a message for another user on the system
  • "*" - Return to the main menu
